Abdi Latief

He is a journalist, writer, videographer and video editor based in Mamuju, West Sulawesi, Indonesia. Since 2022, he is one of the fellows of Riwanua. From 2014, he has been producing hundreds of videos on cultural issues in Sulawesi island, mostly in the western and southern part of the island. In 2018-2019 he took part in the Phinisi Bakti Nusa Expedition as a documentation team. This cruise travels along the eastern part of Indonesia using the Phinisi Pusaka Indonesia ship for 136 days. The mission of this trip is for research, education and archiving purpose. The journey starts in Makassar, travels around Sulawesi, Halmahera Island, Ternate, Tidore, Papua, Seram Island, Banda, Saumlaki, East Nusa Tenggara and returns to Makassar. On this trip, the expedition team stopped at 51 points along the way. Now he is commuting between Mamuju and Makassar.
